Mantra Sakala Resort | Bali

Pool Bars & Coconuts

“The Mantra Sakala Resort pool areas are the main attraction and they are very impressive.”

Part of the well known Mantra Group, Mantra Sakala Resort (click here) is a relaxed kid/family friendly resort in Nusa Dua.

The Mantra Sakala Resort is located right at the tip of Nusa Dua’s peninsular and is only a 20 minute car trip from the Airport. Nusa Dua as a whole is very popular with the Asian Market, however, due to Mantra’s very heavy Australian presence, the Mantra Sakala is very popular with Aussie families.

Check’n In

With 252 rooms, 2 huge pools, 4 level gym, kids club, beach club & spa this hotel/resort is ideal for young families travelling with children.

The Room

Our suite was on the 5th floor and overlooked the lagoon from the balcony.

The room had a dark, modern décor with splashes of white marble throughout. It also came with an integrated kitchenette, separate living and dining area. The bathroom had the same theme was compact but very practical.

Relaxing At The Mantra

Food & Beverage

The hotel has two options for food. One being the main restaurant in the east wing of the hotel and the other being the Sakala Beach Club. I ate Breakfast at the buffet and lunch at the beach club, both were average, stock standard meals.

Pool & Gym

The 24-hour fitness centre is spread over 4 floors with new techno gym equipment and a dedicated yoga/stretching floor and two very, very big pools.

Beach Club

The Mantra Sakala Resort also offers a spectacular beach club on the sparkling sands of Tanjung Benoa, You are only a hop, skip & jump from every imaginable water sport.

The Beach Club From The Beach

Pros:

  • Huge Pools
  • Water Sports On The Beach
  • Great For Kids

Cons:

  • We had an interesting stay at Mantra Sakala. Two things that left us on a sour note were firstly; money being taken from the room during a turn down service (granted it was a minimal amount and we didn’t keep it in the safety deposit box which was our fault) but is still disappointing none-the-less. Also we faced a little bit of discomfort with the staff member lingering for a tip, I have no problem with tipping as such, but the manner in which it came across was like ordering a taxi.
Poolside Or Beachside

Overall:

We would recommend if you are a family with little kids to definitely consider coming here as it is a great kid friendly resort with a lot of activities.

  1. I am going to Bali for my honeymoon – would you recommend here or somewhere else?

    1. Hi Stacey!
      Congratulations!
If you aren’t traveling with children and you are after romance, I would recommend some of the other hotels that I have reviewed! They will be up within the next few days (and they are amazing and perfect for honeymooners!)
