The hunt for that perfect t shirt bra

So tell me this, does the hype of Valentines day make you feel like you are falling head over heels in love with whom ever tickles your fancy, or do you wish it to sizzle off like that burnt piece of sausage left on the bbq for far too long?

Whether you are in column a or column b, I think all females can agree that treating yourself to something nice (no matter what day it is really) is part of that self love that we should all be making the time to do. Sometimes, I need a little bit of an obvious statement like shall we say, “treat yourself to what you deserve this valentines day” to spin me into action.

Marks & Spencer x Krumble
Marks & Spencer x Krumble

I, like many millennials, shop mostly online. Albeit, sometimes, wanting to shop for that “perfect bra” has its limitations when you shop online. However, Marks & Spencer (click here) kinda has you covered in that department.

Marks & Spencer tailor to create the perfect bra for women from all different shapes and sizes. For me, the perfect bra isn’t necessarily a t shirt bra or a raunchy lace ity bity piece of material. But what it does have to have is support, comfort and most of all, fits perfectly on myself and underneath my clothes.

My top selects from Marks & Spencer

I jumped online to the Marks & Spencer website, and I was a little bit put off. Bra’s to me are a bit of a big ticket item so to speak, normally setting you back a cool $100 for a “good bra”, not the $30-40 on the website, so I still kept my skepticism hat on until I could see it to believe it.

I kept on scrolling until I could find the perfect outfit with that perfect under garment for that perfect dinner. I found what I had been looking for, checked out (courtesy with a nice little gift voucher from M&S for the purpose of this little post) and sat back. I was thinking that my shipment would take at least a week or so to get with me. I placed it on Jan 23rd – it was with me by Jan 28th.

Marks & Spencer x Krumble

Turns out that Marks & Spencer do a pretty good t shirt bra! …and by good, I mean spot on for comfort and quality. Along with their other pieces of goodies that I received, in the photos above!

So, my lovely humans, treat yourself to something special every now and then. Because we all deserve the gift of comfort and self love!

A beginners guide to going green

I find myself scrolling through drool worthy interiors on my Instagram feed daily. Wanting to make that greenhouse bedroom makeover happen, but not quite finding time to do so. Until now!

I have always wanted that greenhouse vibe in my house, yet it hasn’t been until recently that I have been paying close attention to how much of a positive effect plants and eco friendly interiors can have on not only humans, but those little fury friends of ours too!

So why should you have real plants in your house (not just fake)

Indoor plants: are they really worth the hype?

Breathe & Clean

When we inhale, we bring oxygen into our bodies. When we exhale, we release carbon dioxide. Plants, in fact do the opposite. During photosynthesis, plants absorb our carbon dioxide and release oxygen, making humans and plants a match made in heaven.

By increasing oxygen levels, and keeping the oxygen flowing 24/7, plants not only help us breathe easier, they help freshen up the air, and eliminate harmful toxins.

Focus & Energy

Who would have thought that having a bit of greenery could help you think clearer? Being around plants has been shown to help increase memory retention and concentration (1)

Spending more time immersed in nature gives you a sense of vitality and gives you a good dose of serotonin, so why not bring that nature inside?

Reduce Stress

Have you ever wondered why people love gardening? It may be the fact that they are outside in nature, or it might simply be the element of nurturing nature. Nurturing plants has been shown to reduce stress levels and gives people a way to cope with their negative feelings (2)

I wanted to transform my bedroom from a place of just sleep, into a relaxing haven, where I feel completely at ease. To tie in nicely with my green foliage, I have opted to go down the linen side of things with my bedding. These Sheridan pieces are made from 100% Belgian linen fibers that have been dyed in natural piece muted tones. I was a little hesitant to go down the linen option, even when I unpacked the sheets I was worried that the linen was going to be harsh on my skin. Sure enough though, after a wash and a few good nights sleep breaking it in, the linen has softened quite nicely.

Any tips on now trying to keep my plants alive?! haha

City slicker sausages!

Today’s guest post is from none other than the Sausage Brothers – Hercules and Hector.

Hey furiends!

We love staycations! What we love even more is pet friendly staycations, where we get looked after as much as our hoomans.

Once upon a time, we were told that Kings Cross was a time for partying with a bit of a sleaze factor. But now, there are heaps of puppy friendly cafes, and restaurants that our hoomans love. Our mum kept on saying the “gentrification of the cross has been a long process but she likes it now and is excited for all the new places opening up, like the Larmont”.

The Larmont officially opened in February, formerly known as the Diamant Hotel. With over 103 rooms and a new snazzy restaurant called Hyde. Located just behind the iconic Coca Cola sign, we were right amongst the buzzing Kings Cross vibes that we had heard so much about!

We walked through into the lobby, feeling like the VIP pooches we are. We were greeted by the nice lady behind the reception desk and we went straight up into our room, as our mum had already checked us in.

We took the lift up to the second level, which we were told was the exclusive pet level, with sweeping city views from our balconies. As we ran down the corridor to the end room, we couldn’t believe our eyes when we saw our huge room and even bigger balcony. We were in the courtyard suite, which we highly recommend for those that are travelling with their four legged companions.

The team at the Larmont really looked after us, with matching beds, brand new squeaker toys and bottles of water. With so much excitement we ran around for an hour, sniffing and exploring this new place. Our suite was pretty modern, with an i-Pad for helpful tips on getting around.

Pros

Our balcony was so big – it was bigger than our backyard!

Pet friendly (dah)

Trendy location

When you stay at the Larmont, you get access to the Yoga studio downstairs (Mum wanted us to mention this as she loves Yoga…we still do a better downward facing dog though)

Free parking!

Cons

Seeing as we are suburban dogs, we aren’t really used to the city noises like sirens and doors shutting from our neighbours. So we kept our hoomans up with our curiosity most of the night!

We are really inquisitive dogs, and we could smell and hear the dog in the adjoining balcony. While we had heaps of fun sniffing and barking with our new friend, we aren’t sure if our other neighbours enjoyed it as much as we did!

Overall, we had so much fun on our puppycation. We love getting pampered and looked after, and we really felt like rock stars walking through the lobby. Although we didn’t really get to have a well rested sleep because there was just so much going on below us, which was way toooooo exciting for two little sausages!

Herc & Hector (woooof)

Disclaimer: The Sausage Brothers stayed as guests of the Larmont for this review. However, as always, the boys thoughts and opinions are their own, dictated to their human Keira Rumble.

My morning skincare routine

Do you have dull and lifeless skin?

What about dark circles? Or redness and pigmentation?

After a long day, you finally get home, one of the first things you do is go to the bathroom and take off your makeup.

If any of the above sounds like you, read on and thank me later.

Enter, Dr Jart and their Cicapair range.

Now, full disclaimer here right from the start, I am not getting paid to write about these products below. I genuinely freaking love this stuff, however, I was gifted these products a few months ago, and I have been hooked ever since, I have been through 3 tubes of the moisteriser and I am on my 2nd pot of the Tiger Grass corrective cream (heaven).

I have been fortunate enough in my lifetime, not to suffer from acne (granted the odd hormonal breakout does greet me here and there). BUT, what I am genetically blessed with is dull tones, extremely sensitive skin and dark circles.

While, I do believe that beautiful radiant skin, comes from within, I also understand that using the right products for your skin is essential to complete that all round glow, that let’s face it – most women want.

My current favourites

Why this range of Dr Jart’s has got me talking is a little so called ingredient called:  Tiger Grass also known as Centella asiatica or Cica. These products (especially the correcting pot) have revolutionized not only my skincare routine, but also has reduced the amount of makeup I wear on a daily basis.

So what is Tiger Grass?

It kind of looks like bamboo, but infact it is a herb that is found in Asia. It has ben in Eastern medicine for various health benefits and healing properties.

Tiger Grass is a herb found in Asia that has been in Eastern Medicine for various health benefits and is packed full of healing properties to help with irritation, puffiness, redness and so much more.

Dr Joshua Zeichner Director of Cosmetic and Clinical Research in Dermatology at Mt Sinai Hospital in New York City says: “ It is rich in saponins, which are like nature’s anti-inflammatories and have been shown to calm irritated skin and aid in wound healing.”

In fact, the name “tiger grass” actually is quite literal. Tigers in India actually roll around in the grass to help heal their wounds.

Easy as 1,2,3,4

Step One – Serum

Dr Jart Serum (or good quality Vit C serum)

Dr Jart Serum

I have been using serums every morning religiously for about a year and a bit. I look for a good quality vit C serum that will help brighten the skin. The added bonus of this serum is that it is a highly concentrated, fast acting serum that helps soothe skin sensitivity.

Step Two – Moisturize

Dr. Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Cream

I adore this moisterizer! It is thick but not too thick and feels great against the skin. I will only put this on in the morning. Be careful as this doesn’t have an SPF – so make sure one element of your skincare has an SPF (like the next product I use)

Step Three – Corrective Cream

Dr. Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment SPF 30

This product here has revolutionized my skincare – I have gone from wearing quite a bit of product to help correct my uneven skin tone – to just this. I find putting just a small dollop on my face and targeting my dark spots and uneven skin tone, can lift and brighten my skin in just moments. I am only just about finished with my first pot of the Tiger Grass, so a little goes a long way!

Step Three – BB Cream

Dr. Jart+ Premium Beauty Balm SPF 45

I will then go on with a BB cream to add a little colour into my face, a touch of bronzer, blush, brow gel, mascara and set with a rosewater misting spray if I am heading to a meeting or running around.

Have you tried Dr Jart? What does your morning skincare routine look like?

Fun in the sun with BONDS

Aussie house-hold brand BONDS (click here) have outdone themselves with this year’s SWIM range. With gorgeous mix and match bold prints, it not only has something for everyone in the family, but delivers above and beyond with quality garments that will last year after year.

The BONDS SWIM range includes children sizes from 000 to 7 and then caters for sizes XS to XL for both men and women, with styles designed to fit everybody.

Adapting from its much loved female hipster range, this year is all about variety for us ladies, from bikinis, one-piece, tubes, triangle and bandeau.  Each piece has been crafted, so we can easily mix and match with the rest of the range.

This season we see the return of one pieces on the runway, with an array of colour to black. For me, while you all know I love colouir, black is always a safe bet, allowing you to seasonally flow into Summer and out. While the other colourful bold prints create energy and highlight a playful side to the brand we so love and adore.

“Prints are part of the Bonds signature. We do a lot of work to make sure our prints are dynamic and energetic but also appeal to a wide audience. There is definitely a boldness to our prints, in a sense they have their own character. Each print has been designed to tie in beautifully with our colour palette, which is both punchy and saturated, as well as pared back and neutral. We spend time working prints into the stories we want to tell. In this instance, with our bright modern florals and playful motifs, we wanted to echo the intensity of high summer in Australia.” – Senior Designer Anna Banno

Here in Australia, we are faced with rough surf and a strong UV, so what better way to combat this with swimwear that actually stays on when swimming, and protects your bod at the same time. With two way stretching lycra and UPF 50+ protection, BONDS delivers on providing us with the enjoyment that a day on that Aussie beach in summer we dream of.

Disclaimer: This was a paid collaboration with BONDS, however all thoughts and opinions are my own and I genuinely do love and wear their garments!

My kinda night in

Netflix x LG x Pizza = Happiness

We’ve all heard the colloquial saying “Netflix & Chill” that has circulated social media and media channels alike. For me, I hadn’t jumped on the Netflix bandwagon, until now. If you’ve been following me on social media, you may already know that I have partnered up with LG to showcase their OLED TV and Soundbar and just how special it makes my home entertainment set up. LG has teamed up with Netflix to give away a bonus 3 month Netflix Premium subscription for customers who buy either an LG OLED TV or LG SUPER UHD TV between 17 April and 16 July 2017. And it’s so easy, with just a click of the Netflix button on the Magic Remote, I have now got my hands on Premium access to some of the best shows going around (hello TV binge time!)

If you have been living under a rock for the past few years, Netflix is the World’s leading internet television network offering award winning TV shows, movies and documentaries. Flower Crowns & Fairy Hair

Flower Crowns & Fairy Hair w/ FlowerBomb Bloom

Viktor & Rolf

Viktor & Rolf have just launched their tantalizing new fragrance FlowerBomb Bloom. I was fortunate enough to work with the team to create this magic.

The divine fragrance Eau de Toilette is a fruity, floral explosion, initially captivating with pomegranate and enveloping with peony. It is delicate and feminine and although Winter is approaching us here in Australia, those Autumn days are made that little bit lighter with the added touch of this before I jet out the door.

Are you dying to know more about this divine fragrance?

Keeping the addictive imprint of Viktor&Rolf’s first, iconic Eau de Parfum, the floral signature of FlowerBomb Bloom becomes more aerial and is defined as fruity floriental. The top of this new Eau de Toilette is sparkling and juicy, led by the delicate pomegranate accord, bergamot and mandarin oils.

The heart is perhaps most notable as it is freshly infused with unexpected pure air molecule – an innovative molecule captured at the top of the mountain ranges of the Pacific Northwest, and recreated synthetically. A subtle touch of living liquid air brings a fresh and aerial mountain breath, elevating the fragrance’s thousand-flower heart and creating a surreal bouquet of scents.

The strong, memorable base remains addictive with musks, vanilla and patchouli. This burst of fresh flowers brings upward movement and a breath of fresh air.

“My night at one of Sydney’s Dog Friendly Hotels, Pier One was fantastic”

Our humans decided for Christmas to spoil us with a night out on the town at Sydney’s dog friendly hotel Pier One (click here) to relax from a very stressful 2017 and let me tell you, it was paaaawfect!

The day started out waiting for our masters to finish work (like usual) we then made the leisurely trip into the city were we got to look and growl at everything. We parked at the rocks and had a lovely walk around and under the harbour bridge where we had to stop by every 2nd person to get patted and pampered…. naturally 🙂

Hang’n at the ‘The Dogue’

From here we made our move to the hotel room for some R & R. We stayed in Pier One’s ‘DOGUE’ room, which was sooo nice. They really looked after us. We got our own separate beds, squeaky toys, more jerky than we could ask for and a couple of relaxing Neem Miracle sandalwood misters. We were in heaven.
We checked in around 4pm, and the music downstairs at the bar was already pumping and the mood was very festive. We ordered room service from The Kerrigan and indulged in some brisket and pork ribs. After all the festivities and food we were exhausted, one more brisk walk so we could do our business and that was us for the night.

We woke up so early because we were so excited to explore the hotel some more. Our humans took us quickly downstairs so we could do our morning business, then it was back up to the room for some more pampering. We got to run around and play with our new toys some more then it was time for us to hit the town and get some puppychinos.

On our way down to get our breakfast we tried to convince our humans to take us for a bike ride, but they needed to get to work. So we had a quick run around again, said hello to some friendly people unpacking some trucks with what looked like bacon. We then helped pack the car (full of all of our new toys thanks to Pier One) and headed home.

Thank you Pier One for making us feel so special and VIP, we can’t wait to visit again!

Smooches xx
