Sanur in general is a lovely place to unwind, restore and revive but The Samata is something special.
The Samata Sanur (click here) is an exclusive, luxurious wellness villa in Sanur. In the ancient language Sanskrit, “Samata” means the state of equilibrium between body, mind and soul, and that is exactly what the resort offers each guest.
Check’n In:
Located in Sanur, which is on the East Coast of Bali, approximately 20 minutes from the airport. The Samata itself, is approximately a 5-10 minute car ride from Sanur’s main strip and a 10 minute walk to the beach. Hosting only 10 suites and villas guests experience a highly personalised service.
The Room:
Our ocean view suite was extremely spacious with a modern Balinese vibe. Our room was so large that the king size bed only took up about 25% of the room. As we were on the second floor we also had a balcony complete with day bed and dining table that over-looked the stunning turquoise pool areas and verdant rice fields on towards the Bali Sea in the not-so-far distance.
The bathroom was once again huge with a double-sided vanity the centrepiece. And through the bathroom you could access a private courtyard.
Food & Beverage:
The healthy menu incorporates a significant amount of super-foods, grains, pulses, nuts & spices. hey also use a combination of different healthy techniques including raw preparation, steaming and grilling of meals.
If you feel like eating out, The Samata is a little bit tucked away, so it is a short stroll to the main street but this is where you will find lots of different little cafes. We ate at the Three Monkeys which I definitely recommend.
Gym & Pool:
There a 3 different lap pools for the hotel. Some rooms come with private dipping pools as well.
The emphasis on health and wellness is emulated throughout the resort, from the extremely large gym, boxing ring, tennis court, and yoga studio.
Pros
- Very well equipped and Large gym (bigger than our gym in Sydney!)
- Great activities such as sunrise walks
- Delicious menu with lots of healthy options
- Picturesque pool area
- Peacful
Cons
- Unfortunately, our air conditioning in our room wasn’t working
Overall
I was completely relaxed during my whole two-day stay at The Samata. The views, the layout, and the staff were great. The Samata is definitely a place I would choose to stay at again.
